EOU Basketball Roundup

In an intense game versus Corban University the Mounties snuffed out the Warriors post season. The deficit advances EOU to the Semi-Finals of the Cascade Conference tournament.
Eastern shot an amazing 55.2% for the game compared to Corban’s 36%. This is Eastern’s fifth win in a row and they hope to keep the streak going.
Jamar Johnson the 6’3” wing put down 16 points for the game high. Brown scored 12 points complimented by five rebounds. Felder shared the same stats as Brown for the game.
Crban’s Jordan Carter put 15 points through the net and Jacob Kopra added another 15 points and five rebounds.
Eastern managed 27 points off of turnovers. EOU’s bench outscored Corban 26-11. EOU bested Corban from three point territory shooting 7-19, with the Warriors at 9-26.
Coach Isaac Williams said, “It was kind of funny, to start our defense was great. We were able to keep them close while we made a small lead. Once, we were comfortable the shots starting going in.”
When asked about the next game Williams said, “We are going to enjoy this win. Tomorrow we’ll talk about game plans.”
Saturday, Feb. 25, Eastern will travel to Klamath Falls to battle Oregon Institute of Technology. OIT holds the No. 1 rank in the Cascade Conference. There is 15-3 compared to Eastern’s 11-7 season.
As Eastern holds the No.4 spot, this will be a challenge.
No. 25 in the country, EOU Women have won yet again. With a score of 88-57, EOU dispatched Northwest University from the post season.
EOU has won by an average of 25.2 points for the last four games. They hold the No.3 spot in the Cascade Conference with a conference record of 13-5 and an overall record of 23-7.
Dominique Johnson had a career high scoring showcase with 23 points versus Northwest. She shot 9-16 from the field, with 3-6 from the land of the three. Kyle Miller put 17 on the board, shooting 3-4 from three. Korrie Bourn and Brooke Randall shared to score 26 between the two.
This game Bourn glittered the stat sheets with her 6th double-double this season with 11 rebounds.
Eastern shot 50% from the field, and the bench worked Northwest in scoring 44-9. The bench has not been outscored yet this season.
Now, EOU’s Women challenged the No. 20 College of Idaho. COI holds the second spot in the Cascade Conference.
