PORTLAND, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University volleyball’s Kaki Morehead and Rebecca Haight were named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
Morehead led the Mountaineers to their best ever Cascade Conference record of 15-3. EOU finished third in the CCC after being picked fifth in the conference preseason poll. Morehead and Eastern won 17 games this season, for only the second time in the last 20 years.
Morehead has an overall coaching record of 77-50 through five seasons at Eastern. She has the most coaching wins in school history. Morehead is 64-29 in Cascade Conference play all-time.
Haight had 213 kills this season in 68 sets, an average of 3.13 kills per set. The junior has a hitting percentage of .318. She is third in the conference in hitting percentage and kills per set.
Haight recorded a season-high 21 kills at then-ranked No. 6 College of Idaho. She had 25 digs against College of Idaho as well. The Longview, Wash. native, is in her first season with the Mountaineers after transferring from Blue Mountain Community College.
